Square Enix has announced that a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII will arrive with the Blu-ray edition of the Advent Children CGI film in March 2009. While this is applicable only to Japan, it can be noted that both Japan and North America share the same region coding for Blu-ray discs, meaning the movie itself will be playable on North American consoles.
A North American release is yet to be confirmed. However, the same region coding may mean the demo might run on consoles in other territories as well since developers haven’t exercised the region lockout program in the PS3 much since the console’s inception.
In addition to the playable demo, the disc will include new trailers for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which has been confirmed to be a PS3 exclusive, as well as the PSP bound FF13 game Agito.
