On the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is word that Turner Broadcasting is looking to sell off GameTap, its free and subscriber online gaming service. This comes through the company’s second quarter earnings results, which mentioned $18 million noncash impairment attributed to the sale of GameTap.
No potential buyers have been identified yet, but Turner notes that there is “considerable marketplace interest in the GameTap business and brand.”
Despite all this, GameTap is continuing its normal operations and are releasing American McGee’s new episodic game.
