Sackboy To Be The PlayStation Mascot?
Behind every great console, there is a great mascot. Obviously, the most recognizable mascot is Mario, for 
Nintendo. Microsoft also has a popular mascot in Master Chief, and up until Sony has had several mascots, such as Solid Snake. According to a recent report, however, that’s about to change.
According to Mark Valledor, product marketing manager for the innovative title Little Big Planet, as a part of a marketing push Sony is apparently setting up the image of Sackboy to go hand in hand with the PlayStation 3.
“We want ‘LittleBigPlanet’ to lead the charge into a new genre of gaming and turn Sackboy into the next emblematic character for the PS3. We will continue to see the momentum build throughout the end of this year and on to the next. … This is a very big title for us.”
It is extremely bold for an entire system to place it’s entire public image on a completely new title. However, if there is any new game franchise that can pull it off, Little Big Planet would definitely be the top candidate.
