Liquid Marketing
Does anyone remember the days when video games sold themselves without the need for excessive marketing campaigns and relatively unrelated products? Neither do I (Nintendo cereal anyone?). As if people weren’t excited already about the upcoming retro-styled Mega Man title, you’ll soon be able to get a real taste of the Mega Man universe.
This month ‘E-Tank’ energy drinks will be hitting the shelves of Japanese stores at a costly price of 137 yen or about $1.25 American. I can’t help but wonder how much some people will be willing to pay to import them. Let’s hope for the sake of the Japanese and west hemisphere otaku that they’ll be more palatable than the Final Fantasy Potion drinks which by all accounts were vile. Remember though, no matter how many renegade Roombas you destroy after emptying your drink, they won’t drop pellets that’ll refill it. Just buy another.
