Designer Makes Nintendo Bikini

August 19th, 2008 Posted in Business, Culture, News by Will Prusik

It’s not uncommon to see someone walking down the street these days sporting a gaming related tshirt. Whether it’s from a mass retailer like Target or a web-based company; geek chic is a growing trend. Video games aren’t the exclusive territory of sweaty, unwashed nerds living in their parents basement long past adulthood. As with most trends it’s beginning to spill over into other areas of pop culture. French designer John Nouanesing has created what is subtly referred to as the ‘Geekini’. It’s available in two colors and features classic NES controller stylings with a D-pad and A/B buttons adorning the top and select and start on the bottom. The best part? Girls actually like it. My supremely fashion-savvy Francophile girlfriend’s response was this: “I want one, it’s cute”.
