Leipzig Gets Diablo III Faq, New Screens

Some juicy details have emerged at the Leipzig Gaming Convention regarding Diablo III. The FAQ they released covers a broad range of topics from release platform plans to character building to the story. One of the most surprising details is that despite the fact that some of the character classes you can select from are supposed to be the same characters as in the previous title, for the first time in the Diablo series players can select their character’s gender. No longer will a preference for arcane might over barbaric brawn force you to play a female character.

Many of the details are rather vague due to the technical innovations and improvements they represent. The game promises improvements to Battle.net as well as the creation of random dungeons and environments. There’ll be existing pre-scripting events mixed in with the normal hordes of monsters and assorted shrines. The game will also feature destructible environments and obstacles that can be turned against your enemies. While some games these days are going solely online, Diablo III will still feature a single player campaign although online co-op will still be a major focus. As most fans of the series are already aware, Deckard Cain will be returning along with some other familiar faces.
