Sony Bringing Download Titles To PSP
It’s likely a long ways from being the primary means of content dissemination but digital distribution is showing its potential as the future of video game sales. Sony has recently brought full-blown titles to the PS3 through the PSN store. Now they’ve announced that the PSP is getting the same treatment. Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or 2 and Bleach Soul Carnival are both coming to the Sony handheld via download as well as the standard UMD retail format.
One of the biggest incentives to switching over to his format is likely the price difference. With the need for manufacture, shipping and retail costs out of the picture, download titles will be cheaper in the area of $10 or so. Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or 2 is 2,800 yen in download, 3,980 in retail while Bleach Soul Carnival is 3,800 yen for download and 4,743 retail.
