gc-logo Riding on the success of the Leipzig Games Convention, organizer Leipziger Messe has announced its intent to pursue a similar game-oriented event in North America.

The Leipzig convention was first held in 2002 and allows both the public and the press to experience new and upcoming titles from publishers. This year’s event was the most successful, boasting over 203,000 attendees.

“The concept is flexible and the network of the global games industry permits us to be active at different locations,” said Leipziger Messe CEO Wolfgang Marzin.

North America is already host to various conventions including E3, GDC, E for All and PAX, though the convention circuit has been mired by criticism and lacking exhibitor interest.
