While Resident Evil 4 was a well-crafted game that took the survival horror model in a different direction than the previous titles (allowing you to blast your way through the hordes of zombies/monsters instead of having to conserve ammo and run away) the controls often left something to be desired. Not being able to move and shoot at the same time was a major hindrance as it left you unable to dodge/avoid projectiles. A lack of strafing was a major issue as well as it often left you walking around corners and getting attacked in the time it took you to turn to see what you were getting into.

From what we’ve seen so far the controls for Resident Evil 5 are relatively the same, but that’s all about to change. Producer Jun Takeuchi has said that the control scheme is going to be revamped and will be similar to the control scheme from Gears of War.
