No matter what George Lucas does, he can’t seem to shake the faith and devotion of Star Wars fans across the globe. Despite the general panning of the Clone Wars animated film, LucasArts is raking it in once again due to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Sure, the game hasn’t even come out yet but the novelization, penned by Sean Williams, has shot to the top of the New York times hardcover bestseller charts.

Given the large library of Star Wars literature already in existence it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. There’s even an entire database devoted to keeping track of all the information about the Star Wars universe that all new storylines and details get checked against to ensure consistency. With the demo out on both Xbox and PS3 I do have to wonder how many fans have already picked up a copy of the novel and are warring internally about reading it before they actually play the game? It’s essentially just a big spoiler wrapped in a protective dust jacket.
