PSP-3000 Heading To Japan October 16th

September 6th, 2008 Posted in News by Paul

Bad battery life or not, Sony seems determined to get its new PSP-3000 out the door and that door seems to open up right in Japan on October 16th. An official release date for other markets is not revealed yet, but we are guessing Sony would want to do it sooner rather than later to avoid a situation that it faced when the first version of the popular game console.

Although it doesn’t look like a big leap from the last iteration with upgrades coming mainly in the form of a built-in microphone and a glare-proof screen, the new video-out feature should keep many PSP enthusiasts glued to their TV sets rather than the console’s small 4.3-inch screen.

Look for it on October 16th in colors of pearl white and mystic silver for 19800 yen (about $183).
