Capcom Goes Platform Agnostic

capcom_logo_topleft Capcom is going completely platform agnostic, as the company has sworn off the practice of making games exclusive one console or the other.

“All major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multi-platform games,” reads a statement in the publisher’s shareholder report for its fiscal year 2008.

From now on, Capcom will develop its games using its internal MT Framework technology, the report adds, that will ensure release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 at the very least.

Capcom “aim[s] to increase revenue and dramatically increase the number of users by launching, for example, Resident Evil 5, … Street Fighter IV, … and Bionic Commando [on multiple platforms.]“
