Fable II Pub Game Glitch Intentional, Will Carry Over To Game
I’ve been gobbling up every bit of information about Fable II just as rabidly as I did all the news and hype of the first. Even though I was a bit disappointed at the unfulfilled promise of the original, I played it endlessly. In reading IGN’s preview of the first three hours of Fable II there’s an interesting tidbit from Peter Molyneux. Many of those who downloaded the pub games on Xbox Live found them rather boring and gave up on them, deciding that the lack of entertainment in the mini-games isn’t worth the extra funds available when you started the game.
Some gamers however found that there was a glitch in the roulette-esque title. You could trick the computer into thinking you were betting much higher stakes than you actually were. The original Fable promised to have the world reflect your choices and decisions. It didn’t do very well with that as the only true reaction you got was occasional comments from villagers or a slightly different dialog.
The sequel promises to truly incorporate this feature and it seems that the pub game glitch is part of this. Molyneux revealed that the glitch was in fact no glitch, but something deliberately planned and those who used it will find that there are consequences once they enter the world of Albion.
