Few video game series have maintained the popularity and longevity that the Pokemon series has. Despite the fact that the series generally has the same premise; collecting and training Pokemon, battling other trainers and occasionally your annoying arch-rival and collecting badges; the series hasn’t stopped selling like hotcakes.
The newest DS title, Pokemon Platinum has sold over a million copies in Japan in a mere two days. It’s a spin-off of the previous DS Pokemon titles, Diamond and Pearl. It features some additional critters (although I have no idea how they keep coming up with more of them!) and an expanded storyline.
