The Force Unleashed Sells 1.5 Million In a Week
Despite everything George Lucas has done that fans of the series have complained about, fans still devour pretty much everything related to the series. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed had all the earmarks of a huge commercial success.
The demo broke records for being the most downloaded title on Xbox live. The novelization jumped to the top of the Amazon best-seller lists despite being obviously spoilerrific. Now despite its rather mixed reviews the title has proven that it was everything as successful as LucasArts hoped it would be.
The title has sold 1.5 million units in less than a week, giving it the title of best-selling Star Wars game to date. LucasArts has said that they’ve shipped over four million units so far globally but they anticipate the demand to mean that they’ll be sending out more copies of it soon. Unfortunately the title’s success comes too late to save some of its team members.
