Thieves Steal Truckload of Games… Twice

September 29th, 2008 Posted in Culture, News, Offbeat, PlayStation 3

It almost seems too comical for real life, but in a rather bizarre case in the UK a group of thieves stole seven pallets of PS3 titles including 16,000 copies of Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway. A rather hefty haul with a price tag of 600k GBP which converts to over a million dollars. The British police recovered the goods from a Renault truck in Leeds.

Here’s where the ridiculousness comes in: the thieves broke into the Northhampton depot where the goods were stored and stole them out from under the cops’ noses.

“We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this,” said a police spokesman.
