face1 Making the service even more invaluable, Valve has announced that its digital distribution platform Steam will begin offering free downloads of user-created mods.

These mods will be playable as long as a user has a Source-powered game installed. They will appear under the My Games listing and will receive automatic updates like any other Steam games.

The initial batch of mods slated to arrive this week are Age of Chivalry, DIPRIP, Insurgency, Synergy and Zombie Panic.
