In today’s first bit of surprising news, LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule revealed that they were working on a game described as “more Portally than Portal” and “Portal, but with scale factor.”
Apparently, the company even met with Valve, which suggested the two work on the game together.
"We were very tempted," said studio co-founder Alex Evans. "But in the end we decided to talk to Sony and they just got the game at the beginning."
Portal was developed by Valve and offered as part of the Orange Box compilation. It was inspired by Narbacular Drop, an indie game from 2005, the creators of which now work at Valve.
LittleBigPlanet is due out exclusively on the PS3 later this month.
