Blizzard Wins $6M from WoW Bot Creator
As if Blizzard needed any more money than they already have, BBC News reports that the World of Warcraft developer has been awarded $6 million due to MDY Industries’ sales of the controversial MMO Glider software that allowed players to automate actions and gain experience while not actively playing the popular MMO.
It is believed the software has sold over 100,000 copies, with each copy worth $25. Combined with the software’s $5 optional subscription, Blizzard believes that its creator had made at least $2.8 million.
