Following rumors that BioWare will unveil its new Knights of the Republic MMO this month, both BioWare and LucasArts have announced that they will hold an event to reveal a new project on October 21.
The event, to take place at LucasArts offices in San Francisco, promises to be host to “the official unveiling of the game that’s been rumored about for years,” taking an obvious stab at the long-running KOTOR MMO.
BioWare is known best for developing the first Star Wars: KOTOR title on PC and Xbox; it is currently working on completing Fallout 3 and Dragon Age.

1You’re aware BETHESDA SOFTWORKS not BIOWARE is making Fallout 3 right? Bioware has never had anything to do with the Fallout series.
ATM Bioware just finished Sonic Chronicles and is working on Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 in Edmonton. Their Austin branch is the MMO department working on KoToR: Online.
You’ve been an editor here a long time Rajiv so I’ll just assume a silly mistake :P.
On a side not… I don’t know if I’m happy or sad to see this news. My dream would be KoToR 3 which could then lead into an MMO. However, I’ve already sucked enough time in WoW and am glad to have quit it and other MMO’s so I dread the prospect of having to get another one in the future simply because I love KoToR so much.
If they try to make KoToR: Online like WoW or WAR I defiantly will not get it. If they create a world that follows in the legacy of the KoToR games… lets you chose your own path and doesn’t really require that you be in a “guild” or “raiding” to do anything, then I will defiantly give it a shot.

2This is soooooo disappointing. What made the first two games so much fun was that they immersed you in the universe of the Old Republic. Setting aside the difficulty of crafting a good story, with an MMO, you’ll get bounced out of the story every time you run into DartRevanKickzAss or some other chowderhead.
I can only hope that a single-player non-online version of KOTOR will be released at some point.

3Captain Nemo.
If story immersion is what you’re looking for in any mmo, you dont go to the regular servers, you go to the RP servers. Generally speaking, they have naming regulations, and if “dartrevankickzass” was there, he would be forced to change his name.
ps. get over it. lets hope its just good as far as mmo’s go (not like wow or war)
