Little Big Planet Calculator

October 9th, 2008 Posted in News, Offbeat, PlayStation 3 by Erich Jurgens

Isn’t it incredible how people will go out of their way and do tedious time-draining work so that we don’t have to take the time ourselves? An example would be people who write dictionaries or write encyclopedias. One person in particular, who obviously has an unholy amount of free time on their hands, made a calculator in Little Big Planet. If you’re wondering how they programmed it to calculate, the answer is they didn’t. The level works completely mechanically via ropes and levers. The calculator can do addition and subtraction. The video above shows the calculator in action as well as a detailed look at the mechanics behind it.
