New Castlevania Announced

castlevania-wall ITmedia reports that Konami has announced that a new entry in its popular Castlevania franchise is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The developer showed off a brief teaser trailer showing a man with a glowing red sword. Few details are known at this point, and even series producer Koji Igarashi is surprised, stating that he had not expected the game to be announced yet.

This new game will mark the series’ debut on current-gen consoles. A fighting game spinoff is in development for the Wii.
