Following the religious outcry that caused the delay of LittleBigPlanet – the game everyone’s looking forward to – Sony has announced that it will now be released in North America on October 27. It was originally slated for release on October 21.

"Sorry for the delay, and rest assured, we are doing everything we can to get LittleBigPlanet to you as soon as possible," wrote a SCEA representative on the PlayStation Blog.

The PS3 exclusive platformer was developed by Media Molecule. It is one of the most highly anticipated titles this year.

Interestingly, Media Molecule was ready to solve the problem with a day-one patch, but Sony interfered, deciding that the “right thing to do for quality and support of people with no online was to replace existing disks.”
