EA Working On New Syndicate Title
In February of this year Electronic Arts and developer Starbreeze Studios, the makers of the excellent Chronicles of Riddick xbox game, entered into an arrangement to resurrect one of EA’s classic properties. Nothing was made known about what the title was beyond confirmation that it would be an action game. The project’s code name was Project RedLime and it was set for development on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Speculation abounded as to what franchise it’d be, but most were guessing either System Shock or Syndicate. Sources say that the game will be a remake of Bullfrog’s classic Syndicate and its sequel, Syndicate Wars. The cult classic put players in the role of a cyberpunk-style corporate executive who sent out teams of cybernetic agents to assassinate the competition and rescue allies. The sequel brings in a second faction: the “Church Of The New Epoch” who doubled as enemies and a second faction.
