amBX Goes Independent
With help from Prime Technology Ventures, a Netherlands-based pan-European venture capital firm, Philips’ amBX technology arm has become an independent business. It will now be able to license the amBX technology to other hardware manufacturers; Philips remains a licensee as well as a limited partner with PTV.
The new company will also focus on a new SDK and partner program to make the ambience technology a ‘ubiquitous standard in entertainment media and hardware.’
amBX was developed by Philips to enhance the entertainment experience of its products. The technology uses lights, fans and other gadgets to make the user feel immersed in the actions happening on-screen.

Great news for amBX, hopefully they will be able to advertise it further and get more partners involved because it is an awesome piece of kit. Really good for games, music and watching films.
Would love to see it extended to be used with TV / Media systems so I can watch movies properly
