Deus Ex 3 Not on Consoles?

1217845602_5b2168f22206 Seeing as how all games these days are going multiplatform, a game that is being billed as single-platform only will draw much attention. Deus Ex 3, which was previously thought be in the works for PC and consoles, may be a PC-exclusive if words from lead designer Jean-Francois Dugas are to be taken into account.

“We don’t know exactly which platforms we’re going to be out on," said. "If we’re to go console we will want to keep the complexity alive. We want the menu interface and controller to feel simple without risking any of their potential."

He added that “for us, console-isation isn’t about dumbing down features”. The game is being built on the console-friendly Tomb Raider engine, ensuring a multi-platform release.

Quite controversially, however, he calls the original title “slow”.

"There weren’t enough exciting, memorable moments [in the original]," Dugas explained." It was aimed more towards a simulation rather than a game experience."
