Atlus Publishing Ys For DS

October 23rd, 2008 Posted in Adventure, News, Nintendo DS, RPG by Will Prusik

It’s hard to guess what will be considered a classic title years down the road. I can recall renting one of the Ys titles for my Super Nintendo and becoming immensely frustrated at the level of difficulty and never returning to the game. It seems I was in the minority however as the RPG series is popular enough to get a rebirth.

Atlus Publishing who recently put out R-Type Command, the PSP Strategy offering of the R-Type universe, has announced that they’re going to be publishing Legacy of Ys: Book I & II for the DS. The games were released on separate cartridges in Japan but the DS version will be on a single cartridge.

Of course the games will be receiving an update with 3D graphics and optional touch screen support. There’ll also be wireless support in both games for up to four players in multiplayer. The game is set to ship on February 10th, 2009 in the USA.
