Outbreak Of Zombies Coming to PSN

October 23rd, 2008 Posted in Action, News, PlayStation 3 by Will Prusik

Everyone loves zombies in video games. Whether they’re blasting them apart in ruined cities, guiding groups of people away from them or thrashing them with the entire contents of a shopping mall, zombies usually make for a thumb-twitching good time.

Developer doublesix has announced that they’re working on a new title for the Playstation Network entitled Burn Zombie Burn!. As you expect, there are zombies and you are tasked with obliterating these hordes of slavering undead. It’s in arcade stylings, sort of the bastard child of Resident Evil and Smash TV.

As you might expect from the name the title doesn’t take itself too seriously, borrowing from schlocky zombie movies with a tongue-in-cheek humor. Players choose from three different characters to take on the zombies in six different arenas. You can team up with a friend to take on the undead. It’s a point-based game and you can net extra points (and make the name applicable) by taking out zombies with explosives. Unfortunately a flaming zombie moves faster and can do more damage.
