No StarCraft 2 Beta This Year

Having been given StarCraft 2 beta access codes at BlizzCon this year, attendees hoped that the beta for the highly anticipated sci-fi RTS would hit this year, but unfortunately, it won’t.

"It’s not going to be this year," lead producer Chris Sigaty coldly stated. "We’re working really hard on Battle.net itself; of course it’s a Battle.net beta. As we get through that, hopefully as soon as possible after the new year, but there’s no specific date at this point."

The developer stressed that there was a lot of work still to be done on the game, so don’t keep your hopes up.

Blizzard is also working on Diablo 3 and an unannounced next-gen MMO.
