Ubisoft Raises Guidance, Delays Games

October 25th, 2008 Posted in Business by Rajiv Ashrafi

Ubisoft Logo French publisher Ubisoft released a report detailing its second quarter this year, which ended in September, and there is both good and bad news for the company.

First up, the good news – the company was successful enough after half its fiscal year to raise its guidance up to 1.05 billion Euros from 1.02 billion Euros. This comes just when Sony lowered its profit estimates by 38%.

Ubisoft also broke down its sales performance by platform, revealing the DS to be their strongest platform, followed by PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, respectively.

Now the bad news – the internally-developed 1404 AD (also known as Anno 1404) has been delayed into Ubisoft’s 2009-2010 fiscal year. This means the game will be released sometime after April 1, 2009. Some “as-yet unannounced” franchises have also been delayed.
