Nintendo Might Not Satisfy Wii Demand This Year

The Wii seems poised to be the hot seller for yet another year. They’ve been ramping up their production almost continually as demand continues according to Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo America. “We’re now producing 2.4 million units a month worldwide. Last year, we made 1.6 million a month. So we’ve made a 33% increase,” said Reggie to the LA Times. Despite the increased production Nintendo is warning the public that the console might be hard to find again this holiday season.
Fils-Aime has been accused in the past of talking up the demand, telling the public that there will be shortages in order to get perspective shoppers rushing to the stores to get a console before they sell out.
