Beatles Rock Rock Band

beatles-the-the-beatles-1192706 The Beatles have finally joined the digital dimension, as Harmonix has announced that a standalone music game of the legendary band is in development.

While no exact details were given, the game is expected to feature around 45 Beatles songs, and Harmonix has been given access to the band’s 1962-69 discography, which begins and ends with “Please Please Me” and “Abbey Road”, respectively.

"We signed a deal that would be considered very rich by the video game company but fair for the artists," noted Sony/ATV Music Publishing CEO Martin Bandier. "It will have online implications that will be enormous."

The game is due out in time for the 2009 holiday season and will be compatible with current Rock Band instruments. However, it won’t feature the Rock Band brand name; Harmonix also hasn’t stated if any Beatles songs will be available in Rock Band.
