Atari Publishing Chronicles of Riddick Remake

November 4th, 2008 Posted in Action, Adventure, News, Xbox 360

Not too long ago gaming icon Atari was looking at a sad financial state. Things are looking up for the company after the launch of Alone in the Dark. The title might have gotten some fire from critics, it still made a decent amount of money.

In discussions of their strategy for staying afloat the company said they’d be focusing more on publishing titles than developing them in-house. Atari has supposedly already picked up the Ghostbusters game after Activision dropped the title following its merger from Blizzard and they’ve now added The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena to their publishing lineup.

The title is more than just a re-imagining of the title. In addition to the original Escape from Butcher Bay content there’s an entirely new first-person campaign.  Players will once again step into the shoes of anti-hero Riddick as he sneaks/smashes his way around Mercenary ship Dark Athena. The game is set to be released worldwide in the spring of 2009.
