Square Enix Teasing Bahamut Game

November 12th, 2008 Posted in News, Rumor by Will Prusik

Square Enix has put another teaser page up on their Japanese website. The URL includes the word ‘Bahamut’ and as of the time of this posting the countdown clock is on five days, six hours which means that we’ll have some indication of what’s going on November 17th. Last time something like this was up it was for the re-release of Chrono Trigger on the DS, considered one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

This teaser page most likely hints at a re-release of another classic, Bahamut Lagoon. Sadly this title wasn’t ever released outside of Japan although of course many gamers played it via emulation with a translation patch. Given that many classic Nintendo and Super Nintendo games have gotten a revival with great success and the parallels between this teaser and the Chrono Trigger teaser page put up early this year, it seems very likely that Bahamut Lagoon could be the title in question. Let’s just hope that this time it makes its way to the rest of the world.
