UK Tabloid Dresses Up Girl To Celebrate Gears

November 12th, 2008 Posted in Culture, News, Xbox 360

If you’ve never heard of the Daily Star it’s a popular tabloid magazine in the UK, although if you’ve ever spent some time in the checkout line at Sainsburys or any other supermarket across the pond you’d know just how many tabloid/celebrity gossip magazines that they have. One way in which the Daily Star gets readers is by including something for the male population.

To celebrate the launch of Gears of War 2 they got the lovely Lucy Pinder to don a somewhat questionably game-connected but undoubtedly hot outfit. Calling it an outfit might even be stretching things as it seems little more than a few strategically tied strips of green, vaguely military looking material. The jungle background seems a bit odd as well given that most of the game seems set against concrete, dirt and rubble. Supposedly Ms. Pinder is a gamer herself, although that might simply be pandering to fans.

The Daily Star is a newspaper. A tabloid is a newspaper.
