Microsoft Adds Relatively Unknown Title To Xbox Originals

November 18th, 2008 Posted in Adventure, News, Xbox 360 by Will Prusik

The idea of the Xbox Originals store on the Xbox Live Marketplace isn’t a bad one at all. It’d be a lot stronger of a marketing tool if it weren’t for backwards compatibility but if you’re miles away from your closest game store you can pick up some old favorites or get a new game for relatively cheap. The list is heavily weighted with classics like Ninja Gaiden Black, Crimson Skies and Fable.

Microsoft has announced the next title to be added to that list and it’s a strange one. Joining the quality, high rated titles that were loved whether they be launch titles or games that released near the end of the console’s lifespan is one that garnered little notice, likely due to its low review scores and ‘family friendly’ gameplay. The game in question is a platformer from Atari called Zapper. It puts whoever is foolish enough to pay the 1200 MS Points for the underwhelming title in the antenna of a cricket on a frogger-like quest to save his brother Zipper.
