Sony Denies March 2009 PS3 Price Cut

November 25th, 2008 Posted in Business, PlayStation 3 by Rajiv Ashrafi

ps3_3.jpgFollowing yesterday’s rumor of a price cut for the PS3, Sony has responded by denying any PS3 price cut in March 2009, noting that “anything reported on or discussed otherwise is purely rumor or speculation.”

Sony has also repeatedly denied a PS3 price cut this Holiday season, which Microsoft has absolutely capitalized on by dropping the price of the Xbox 360 console to compete directly with the Wii.

The 80GB model of the PS3 currently sells for $399 whereas an Xbox 360 can be had from $199 to $399 and a Wii for $249.
