While I doubt many of us could think of a time when we played a game on the Xbox 360 that didn’t have a save feature for more than ten minutes it seems that the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU is doing well enough that Microsoft is going to be upgrading them. In addition to improving internal components in the hopes of eliminating the red ring of death they’re going to be including 256 megabytes of internal storage for the console which is designed to encourage owners to install all of the NXE, which is only 128 megabytes, leaving half the storage space for other uses.
Unfortunately this announcement comes too close to the holidays season to think that we’ll be seeing the new units on the shelves this year and Microsoft hasn’t let anything slip about when they’re expecting/hoping to have the units on shelves.
