Activision Confirms Call of Duty: MW 2, Guitar Hero 5, James Bond Racing Game and More
Surely Call of Duty 6 isn’t new news, but it’s still news, isn’t it? Activision Blizzard has announced that the sixth title in its best-selling franchise will be dubbed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and is slated to hit stores in Fall 2009. Series creator Infinity Ward is currently handling development.
Not letting World Tour settle in yet, an in-game shot of Guitar Hero 5 was shown in a demonstration of Massive’s in-game advertising strategy for the publisher. It shows a “Burger King ad to the right of the note highway” similar to its predecessors.
The publisher also confirmed rumors that the upcoming Tony Hawk game will use a type of peripheral for controls; it is due out sometime next year. Finally, an original James Bond racing title from Bizarre Creations was also announced – it is scheduled for release in September 2009. Bizarre is also working on another racing title, described by Activision as “Mario Kart meets Forza.”
