Warcraft Restaurant Opens In Beijing

As one who appreciates a finely crafted meal just as much as a well designed game I tend to avoid theme restaurants. They’re often overpriced and put too much emphasis on the decorations, gimmicks and presentations while the quality of the food suffers. For once though I find myself very curious with the announcement of a restaurant that just opened in Beijing.

When you walk in you’re greeted by an entryway that’s designed as a recreation of the opening menus from World of Warcraft. The entire restaurant is designed around the disturbingly popular MMO, even to the point of having menu items named after characters from Azeroth. The dining room is called the Hall of Snowstorms and I’m willing to bet there’s some delicious ice cream related dessert called the Frozen Throne. Apparently the owner of the restaurant is a big WoW fan himself and created the restaurant to give other fans of the game a “comfortable gathering place”.

If Activision Blizzard doesn’t shut them down, I’ll bet the restaurant goes under because the people who’d eat there are going to be difficult to pull away from their computers.
