SteelSeries World of Warcraft MMO Mouse Doesn’t Have Support for Mac

If you happen to play World of Warcraft on a Mac and you’d also like to get one of those SteelSeries MMO gaming mice then you will need to wait to actually use it. You can either switch to Windows or wait for Mac drivers to arrive.
Yes, that’s right, the SteelSeries new mouse doesn’t have Mac drivers which means you won’t be able to customize all the 15 buttons it has to offer. Mac drivers are said to be on the way but who knows how long that way actually is. In the mean time Mac users will have to level up without being able to map their favorite spells on that new gaming mouse.

Here’s a quick update from SteelSeries on the subject.
We worked with 2 leading independent Mac OS USB remapping tools to get the WoW MMO Mouse support including the remapping and all extended features.
The ControllerMate was updated few days ago to include the default profile for the WoW Mouse and is now fully compatible with it:

The USBOverdrive is in its final steps towards full WoW Mouse support:
http://www.usboverdrive.com/
With both tools you can create numerous profiles, remap any buttons and program your own macros. We are also working with Blizzard to get the native Mac OS support for WoW, however there is no concrete ETA on this yet.

I just received my SS Wo.W mouse and i am having some issues with it.
I had one on order for 6 months up here in Canada, but found it on a shelf in the states over the weekend.
I’d read the poor reviews, but wanted to satisfy my curiosity after all this time, so I disposed of some disposable income and picked one up.
For starters my buttons feel like they’re made out of cheap ass plastic, as in really cheap ass for the $ i paid..WTF?!?
It gives me the tingles in my fingers and i thought i had a major issue with RSI after playing for 5 hours straight but no, apparantly it’s some issue where there’s electricity being leaked out onto the chasis. I want to return mine but their tech support hasn’t gotten back to me. So much for money well spent.
I think im going to hit up a G5 or the razer mamba, which is kinda too expensive. there’s even a bunch of guys suing blizzard for it at http://petitiononline.com/wowmouse for flouting the TOS. sign up if you’re facing problems with your mouse!
seems like there’s so much complaints about the mouse in every forum i searched for. wtf
