Nintendo And Nyko Settle Kama Lawsuit
December 17th, 2008 Posted in Business, News, Sales, Technology

Not too long after peripheral manufacturer Nyko created a wireless nunchuck for the Wii they titled the Kama, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the company. Their beef with the company was that the controller bore far too much similarity to the design of the real Nunchuck. Predictably the lawsuit didn’t take very long to finish and it went in Nintendo’s favor.
Nyko will be allowed to resume sales of the wireless controller add-on by redesigning the controller. Presumably they also had to give some amount of money to Nintendo but they’ve gotten by with giving it a wider shape, a curved Z button, grooves to allow players to get a better grip, a rubber battery cover and new colors for the analog stick and C/Z buttons.
