Playing God Comes In Plastic
Games like LittleBigPlanet and deity simulator Spore give gamers tired of mucking about in someone else’s idea of the perfect digital world an opportunity to stretch their creative wings and soar above a landscape populated by their own imagination clothed in digital flesh and bone. Unfortunately we don’t have the technology to bring our creations to life for our friends and family to enjoy.
EA has announced that they’re partnering up with Z Corporation, the only company that currently has the technology for high-definition, multicolor 3D printing. For $49.50 you can get a real-life replica of your favorite Spore creature to proudly display on your computer desk, cubicle, dashboard or wherever you like. The sculptures can be up to four inches tall and are created directly from the actual creature file. The website is already up and taking orders. There are some restrictions though as creatures that are very top heavy won’t work and various thin pieces like the Grasstachio and Bonestickler can’t be used. Pick one up in time for a great belated holiday gift for the gamer on your list!
