Playstation 3 to be 3D Ready in 2009?

December 22nd, 2008 Posted in Hardware, PlayStation 3 by Chris

The Playstation 3 is the most expensive console one could buy so far. We’ve told you Wii and Xbox are way cheaper and thus bringing in more sales. But what does Sony do instead of making it cheaper for a change? Well Sony dreams of 3D and it looks like the Playstation 3 will be 3D ready next year.

Sony didn’t say anything specifically about it but Blitz Games Studios, the company that creates and licenses the 3D engines told its pal Meant to be Seen, a stereoscopic 3D certification and advocacy group that Sony wants 3D. Well if Blitz Games Studios said so, who are we to judge?

Neil Schneider, President and CEO of Meant to be Seen said:

The best part is console support will only need a bios upgrade to work, We are told that the ability to add this capability via bios may be unique to Sony PS3 versus the other console solutions.

I don’t know about you guys but my eyes want to cry every single time I use one of those 3D glasses so I’m definitely not that excited by a 3D Playstation 3.
