New DS Guitar Hero leaked by ESRB

December 25th, 2008 Posted in Music, Nintendo DS

If you’re still not bored of Guitar Hero then you’ll be happy a second Nintendo DS title has pretty much been confirmed by the ESRB.

What we definitely know so far is that is will be entitled Guitar Hero: Modern Hits, and that’s about it. But let’s take a look at the ESRB’s description to see if we can get some hints:
This is a music and rhythm simulation game in which players can perform songs on a guitar. Players follow on-screen prompts to hit notes in-time with the music and are scored based on their accuracy. Some song lyrics contain references to violence, (e.g., “drop dead a bullet to my head”), alcohol (e.g., “turn the rich into wine” and “we stole and drank champagne”), and suggestive content (e.g., “if your body matches what your eyes can do”).

Hm, looks like we got some lyrics to work with, to Google! Here is our findings:

Drop dead a bullet to my head: Sum 41 – Still Waiting
Turn the rich into wine, we stole and drank champagne: Franz Ferdinand – The Fallen
If your body matches what your eyes can do: Finger Eleven: Paralyzer

So, while it’s not much, we now know that the games title is Guitar Hero: Modern Hits, and that the three songs listed above are almost guaranteed to be in the game. Now all we need is a release date.
