PlayStation 3 Decline 19% in November

December 30th, 2008 Posted in PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360

The US market hasn’t been a good one for the PlayStation 3 at the end of this year. Sales in November declined 19% compared to the previous month. The competition did a lot better. Nintendo Wii sales have doubled while the Xbox 360 sales have gone up 8%. December will probably follow the same trend for all three but we’ll get back to you on that when we have the numbers. Sony has planned to sell 10 million consoles by the end of the fiscal year ending in March 2009. Will the number be achieved? Sony says that the console’s year to date sales have risen 60% and it stays confident the quota will be met. What if Sony lowered the price to achieve that performance?
