In contrast to GameStop’s successful financial reports, Best Buy’s game software revenues have been in the decline. In an issued statement, the electronic retailer had this to say:
“Video gaming comparable store sales declined by the mid single digits, primarily due to a shift toward software and reduced sales of large-ticket consoles, as well as comparisons with strong results in the prior year’s period.“
