Get Excited About Shopping

Next month when your girlfriend/fiancee/wife calls in a marker and drags you to “Confessions of a Shopaholic” she’ll be wondering the whole time why you don’t seem quite as miserable as when you normally get dragged to chick-flicks. Assure her it has nothing to do with the film’s star and keep your eyes open, because halfway through the film you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of a poster for one of Jerry Bruckheimer’s upcoming films.

It’s a previously unseen shot of Jake Gyllenhal in full costume as the Prince of Persia in the upcoming 2010 film. It’ll be  in the well-known Times Square region of NYC, likely as one of the ubiquitous billboards. It’s a somewhat odd choice to put this kind of teaser ad in a film that will likely have whatever segment of the gaming population is watching it asleep in their popcorn. Also odd is the idea that someone really concerned with shopping would be spending time in the tourist trap that is times square with the dozens of boutiques downtown and Fifth Avenue nearby.
