Bigfoot Networks announces Killer Xeno NIC card

March 24th, 2009 Posted in Multiplayer, PC, Technology by James

Bigfoot Networks’ original Killer NIC network card for gamers never got off the ground the way it was supposed to do. Despite giving some performance increases in certain multiplayer games, the price was far too high for the average gamer.

The company has announced a new card at GDC, the Killer Xeno card. The new card has been updated to PCI Express, features more memory, an updated processor and a dedicated audio chip for in-game voice chat. The company also announced a deal with Alienware, which will become the first OEM to ship the card in their gaming rigs.

The Killer Xeno will come in two flavors, one with 256 MB of memory and one with 128 MB, retailing at $179.99 and $129.99, respectively.
