Bobsledding Come To Wii, Complete With Jamaicans
It seems odd that the quickest association that comes to mind when you think of bobsledding, a winter sport is Jamaica, a country that has probably never seen snow. That’s the power of the media and to a lesser extent the power of John Candy. Shred Sled has been announced for the Wii and as you might expect, there will be Jamaicans.
South Peak Games is making the title which of course uses the Wii Balance Board as you steer sleds, toboggans, tubes and of course bobsleds in various downhill races. You’ll be racing against the iconic Jamaican bobsled team as you compete towards the World Winter Games (licensing the rights to call it the Olympics would probably have been ludicrously expensive). You can also go head to head against friends, or cooperatively against the computer. The game is set for an Autumn release, in time for winter so that when you’ve had your fill of dragging your real sled up a hill you can recreate the experience in the comfort of your living room.
Thus far there aren’t any in-game screenshots, just a render of the Jamaican team’s coach. His name? Mon.

This is hilarious that Wii has included Jamaicans in their bobsledding game LOL!!!
I’m actually a native Calgarian, where the Jamaicans first entered the bobsledding competitions. I’ve since migrated (mentally) to Jamaica.
I’m totally diggin the stereotypes of the render (dreads) and the coach’s name – Mon. When will the world learn?
